Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced software engineer to join an agile team building scalable applications across digital channels. You will shape architecture and drive technical execution using modern stacks, with emphasis on performance and reliability.

The role requires strong design/analysis skills, 5+ years in modern languages, and experience with React/Angular/NodeJS along with cloud platforms. Expect collaboration, code reviews, and mentorship within an office-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5 years in design/analysis of algorithms, data structures and patterns for scalable systems.
• 5 years with modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications.
• Write code adhering to coding standards; perform code reviews.
• Explore and implement technical solutions to achieve product features; monitor scalability and performance.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies; assist in sprint planning and execution.
• Drive story creation with DoD, acceptance criteria, and estimates; create tasks in RTC or Jira.
• Monitor progress against production schedule; provide updates to lead developers.
• Mentor junior and intermediate software engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
