Job summary

Instacart, Maplebear Inc. D/B/A Instacart, seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Fulfilment to design, build, and optimize software for fulfillment operations across the platform. This role is remote and reports to headquarters in San Francisco.

You will develop scalable services, optimize expensive SQL queries, and apply AI toolsets to speed delivery. Requires a Master’s in CS or related field and 2 years in Java, Ruby, or Python with MySQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.
• In lieu of a Master's, a Bachelor's with 5 years progressive experience is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement software solutions to optimize and scale the Instacart platform.
• Develop highly scalable software with proper upgrade protocols.
• Analyze and optimize expensive SQL queries and perform performance analysis.
• Refine architectures and propose systems to improve delivery and operations.
• Leverage AI toolsets to accelerate development and raise engineering quality.
