Job summary

Pilot is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Takeoff team, owning projects from design to rollout. You’ll work with engineers, product managers, designers, and accounting experts to ship changes that are safe, well-tested, and easy to reason about.

The role focuses on backend Python, frontend JavaScript/TypeScript/Vue, Terraform, AWS, and Postgres. You’ll help ensure accurate financials that customers see in their books while collaborating across a remote, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience with Python or Vue in production.
• Strong coding fundamentals and well-tested code.
• Good product and systems judgment in evolving spaces.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy software in a continuous manner across the stack.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, and accounting experts on reviews and specs.
• Create and maintain technical specs and rollout plans.
• Write clear designs and perform code reviews to uphold standards.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure problem-solving aligns with needs.
• Mentor teammates to help them grow and maintain quality.
• Investigate production issues and improve system reliability.
