Position Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical contributor across the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of ERP solutions
• Collaborate with business analysts and IT leadership to define, enforce, and continuously improve coding standards, development practices, and system architecture
• As an experienced engineer, have deep technical expertise with these technologies and the related industry standard development methodologies (SDLC):
  • JD Edwards toolset including but not limited to OMW (Object Management Workbench), Data Dictionary, Data Structure Design, Processing Options, TDA (Table Design Aid)
  • FDA (form design aid), RDA (Report Design Aid), Event Rules, System Functions and APIs
  • NER and C BSFNs (Business Functions)
  • JDE Orchestrator studio, Logic Extensions, and other UDOs
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards modules including Financial, Distribution, Sales Order Management, Inventory Management
  • Researching, applying and testing JD Edwards ESUs
  • JD Edwards Security configuration and best practices
  • Core programming languages such as Java, C or C++
  • BI Publisher
  • JD Edwards version upgrades or toolset upgrades
  • Interfacing with third party middleware tools, including related analysis, mapping and configuration
• Preferred knowledge in the following areas:
  • JD Edwards Business Services (BSSV) processing and development
  • JD Edwards Real-Time Events (RTEs)

  • JD Edwards E1 Pages, OneView Reporting and Power Forms
  • Server Manager and CNC processes
  • Multi-language and Vocabulary Overrides

• Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and adjust or make recommendations as appropriate
• Review and provide guidance for technical specs for any code related to primary area of expertise
• Prioritize requests concerning application issues and/or enhancements and work closely with Business Analysts and users to clarify business requirements and design solutions appropriately
• Review and provide deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, test results, and support training needs of business with testing documentation etc.
• Review and provide work estimates and work schedules and update project plans with status
• Ensure to follow the processes used for Issue and Problem Management, System Change Control, IT Governance, Time Tracking and Status Report processes
• Monitor project deliverables, milestones and required tasks
• Provide off‑hours support on a rotating basis as necessary
• Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with 2 to 4 years of related experience or High School Diploma / General Education Degree (GED) and 5 to 7 plus years of specific experience
• Experience with JDEdwards EnterpriseOne supporting ERP applications in a wholesale or distribution environment with multiple distribution centers and 24/7 operations.
• Experience in a development role, to include:
  • Working with JD Edwards or a comparable ERP software suite
  • Developing and supporting applications
  • Supporting applications on at least one primary database system
  • Reviewing, translating and refining business requirements into a technical design, code and test logic
  • Making recommendations based upon the analysis of business requirements
• Experience investigating and troubleshooting performance issues, including review of databases, indexes, and OS interaction, in order to give direction to in‑house and managed service providers supporting the technologies.
• Experience working with the best practice SDLC and support process approach (e.g., ITIL, UML) within a formal software change control process.
• Experience working in a matrixed and global team environment with an established pattern of working independently, creating and meeting reasonable deadlines, and accepting responsibility for his or her actions while respecting individuals and their role within the organization.
• Continued technical growth demonstrating in depth knowledge of 2 or more applications or technologies, with the aptitude and desire to expand this knowledge within those systems as well as new systems or technologies as driven by business requirements.
