Job summary

Tiger Data, formerly Timescale, is hiring a Software Engineer to build and support our on-prem TimescaleDB Enterprise platform. This remote role welcomes early-career engineers who want to grow in product thinking, customer empathy, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work across the full stack (React + TypeScript, Go) and deployment tooling (Ansible), collaborating with Platform Engineering and Product, Support, and Sales Engineering to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Foundational software engineering experience (roughly 1-3 years), with backend services, developer platforms, or infrastructure tooling.
• Working knowledge of Go or TypeScript, or a track record of picking up new languages quickly.
• Comfort with Linux fundamentals: shell, SSH, services, containers, and basic networking.
• Familiarity and growing proficiency with AI coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn from and contribute to the design and development of TimescaleDB Enterprise, on-prem deployment and management platform.
• Develop core product capabilities under guidance: React + TS UI, Go backend, Ansible deployment workflows, PostgreSQL tooling.
• Write tests at all levels, from unit tests to end-to-end tests against real infrastructure.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to translate operational requirements into pragmatic product solutions.
• Assist in implementing features to improve reliability, usability, and operational simplicity.
