Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team of 8–15 engineers responsible for the Electric MMS. You will design, develop, and support large-scale Wholesale Electricity Market Management software in a mission-critical environment.

Ideal candidates have deep OO design knowledge, strong Java and Python skills, and experience with databases, REST/SOAP web services, and CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration and ownership are essential in this energetic energy-market team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM field.
• 3 years of professional software development experience with Electricity Markets.
• 2 years of experience in Energy domain (EMS/Power).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve software components for Wholesale MMS applications.
• Work independently and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Estimate tasks and deliver high-quality code in an Agile environment.
• Troubleshoot MMS applications in development and production.
• Collaborate to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable implementations.
• Maintain code quality with tests and automation.
• Participate in technical design reviews and whiteboarding sessions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet timelines and standards.
