BuildOps is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale product experiences and systems across frontend applications, backend services, and integrations. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering to solve complex problems, improve reliability, and deliver software that drives real customer impact.

This role emphasizes ownership, mentoring, and leveraging AI as a practical productivity boost in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Experience building frontend and backend features and APIs.
• Strong fundamentals in design, data modeling, and scalable architectures.
• Ability to decompose complex problems and mentor teammates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for design docs and stakeholder updates.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across frontend and backend applications.
• Own projects end-to-end from design to rollout and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate problems into technical milestones.
• Write clean, well-tested code emphasizing reliability and extensibility.
• Build APIs and user-facing features across client, service, and data boundaries.
• Improve observability with metrics, dashboards, and health checks.
• Enhance performance, scalability, and resilience of systems.
• Identify risks and dependencies to prevent bottlenecks.
• Contribute to design reviews and architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster high-quality engineering practices.
