Job summary

General Motors' Autonomous Vehicle Launch team is seeking an engineer to develop embedded applications and frameworks that provision, execute, instrument, and monitor the self-driving stack. You will deploy on vehicles, hardware benches, and simulations.

Collaborate across teams, mentor developers, and deliver complex projects through incremental development. Requires 5+ years in Linux-based software with modern C++ and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience shipping production-quality software in Linux environments.
• Strong background in modern C++ and Python development.
• Experience building tooling for large systems.
• High standard and commitment to quality by designing for testability.

Responsibilities

• Build on-vehicle services that provision, execute, and monitor autonomous vehicle software in development and production workflows.
• Develop frameworks to configure self-driving software for multiple simulation environments, hardware platforms, and use cases.
• Develop systems and frameworks to monitor vehicle status and exfiltrate data.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams and mentor other developers.
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development.
