General Motors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape and scale embedded software platforms for software-defined vehicles. You will lead cross-team efforts, connect software, tooling, infrastructure, and release activities into a cohesive engineering system.

You will guide the modernization of test systems, drive standardized automation, and mentor engineers while delivering high-quality, reliable software across multiple teams and environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience validating software systems and leading architecture.
• Deep understanding of software architecture for real-time systems.
• Experience shipping high-quality safety-critical products.
• Experience architecting large-scale CI/CD and embedded test automation.

Responsibilities

• Be a critical leader of software engineering productivity and effectiveness.
• Lead the modernization of a large-scale embedded software test system.
• Define and modernize a standardized, fully automated test framework across environments.
• Develop APIs and integrations connecting test tools and management systems.
• Improve test robustness, fault triage, and deployment efficiency across CI/CD pipelines.
