Job summary

Parsons is seeking highly skilled Software Engineers to design, develop, and support mission-critical information systems worldwide.

You will work on Java/C/C++ services, write tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, and collaborate across distributed teams. Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to travel are required. The role supports critical national security missions with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–15 years of software engineering experience.
• Master's or Ph.D. counts as 2 additional years of experience each.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Scala and/or C/C++ with production-grade development experience.
• Experience building and supporting distributed, high-availability, mission-critical systems.
• Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD strongly preferred).
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and structured debugging approaches.
• Strong written communication skills for design notes, runbooks, and implementation plans.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and sustain production services and components written in Java and C/C++.
• Author and maintain interface documentation and support integration testing.
• Participate in on-call rotation or operational support escalations.
• Collaborate with Network Ops, Infrastructure, and Field Engineering teams to diagnose end-to-end failures.
• Develop and maintain build/deployment automation using GitLab CI/CD.
• Write unit, integration, and regression tests for critical services and interfaces.
• Follow configuration management and change control practices for distributed production systems.
• Troubleshoot and correct software discrepancies to maximize system availability.
