Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies, LLC, based in Mount Laurel, NJ, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the MDAM team. The role is fully on-site and requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain software across the full lifecycle while leading features and ensuring quality and security. Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience and strong skills in C++, Java, Python, and JavaScript, with Linux, Git, SQL/PostgreSQL, and container tech

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading software projects or teams.
• Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages (C++, Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with Linux-based environments and version control (Git).
• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and container technologies (Docker/Podman).
• Ability to travel up to 10% and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction in design and code reviews and system-level discussions.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
• Lead implementation of features, bug fixes, and system enhancements.
• Promote code quality, security, and engineering best practices.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Integrate software components and third-party systems.
• Support deployment, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
• Create and review technical documentation and system designs.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
