Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies, LLC is seeking a Software DevOps Engineer to join our Mount Laurel, NJ team. You will modernize legacy weapons software into a microservices, cloud-native and tactical-edge platform supporting Navy systems.

You will improve CI/CD pipelines, enforce security and compliance, and help build a scalable Software Factory across air-gapped environments. On-site work is required with potential hybrid flexibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in software engineering.
5+ years of full‑time professional experience.
Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Podman, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of IaC principles (Terraform, Ansible).
Scripting (Python, Bash) and Agile development experience.
Willingness to work on-site and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins.
Integrate automated security controls within pipelines (SAST, SCA, container scanning, SBOM).
Develop and maintain Software Factory tooling (GitLab, repositories, scanning tools).
Create and update IaC (Terraform, Ansible) using standardized templates.
Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Podman and Kubernetes.
Ensure compliance controls (NIST 800-171, DISA STIGs, RMF) are automated.
Collaborate with engineers, security, and infra teams on delivery.
Prototype next-generation solutions using AI/ML and distributed processing.
