is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer III) for the Data Sharing team within the Product Information Management organization. You will design, code, configure, test, and support applications to deliver on time and within budget. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable APIs and event streams that make product data available across Grainger.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience with modern software engineering; designing, building, and deploying scalable software applications.
• Understanding of distributed systems design.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting complex problems and processes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot, Kafka, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Terraform, and DataDog.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end services (APIs and stream processing) using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, maintainable software in collaboration with engineers and architects.
• Implement continuous delivery activities (CI/CD) and engineering best practices.
• Support team activities and pair with peers on stories.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Follow TDD, pair programming, and trunk-based development.
