Job summary
Grainger, a leading MRO distributor, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Software Engineer III) to design and build full-stack applications modernizing PIM workflows. You will guide AI-agent outputs, review code, and ensure production-grade quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
You will also mentor junior engineers, champion CI/CD practices, and adapt to evolving platform requirements with Agile and DevOps disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of modern software engineering experience.
- Understanding of distributed system design.
- Familiarity with managing AI agents to write stories, code, review code, and test code.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and build full-stack applications replacing legacy PIM workflows.
- Direct and review AI agent output prompts, code review, testing, and guardrails.
- Learn specialized skills based on platform or domain as required.
- Implement continuous delivery activities (CI/CD) and promote engineering best practices.
- Support team activities and pair with peers on stories.
- Coach junior engineers and share context across AI-agent workflows.
