Job summary

H-E-B Digital Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to deliver complex code solutions for the Cost XP team, supporting CCR (Cost Change Request) and modernizing cost management processes.

You will own end-to-end development, contribute to architecture decisions, and collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to drive performance, reliability, and scalable solutions across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Computer Science degree or equivalent training or work experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge in system and data architecture, data modeling, and design patterns.
• Review platform designs for strength of engineering solutions, performance and scalability.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence.
• Consistent, high-quality results.
• CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns, system architecture.
• Development methodologies and processes.
• Proficient with modern tech stack: Angular, TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js, Java, GraphQL, PostgreSQL.
• APIs and distributed systems design.
• Cloud deployments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Data storage, modeling, performance optimization, troubleshooting.
• CI/CD, testing, release management.
• Observability and monitoring.
• Learn new technologies quickly.
• Lead technical design discussions and evaluate engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Write production-ready code and tests that meet acceptance criteria.
• Create, configure, and support build and deployment pipelines.
• Lead coding, configuration, testing and debugging of systems; deliver quality features.
• Provide production support and on-call readiness for team services.
• Demonstrate ownership and mentor peers; foster collaboration.
• Drive process improvements at the team level aligned with goals.
• Review epics for dependencies, prioritization and clarity.
• Lead team ceremonies and larger team efforts.
• Ensure monitoring and observability adhere to best practices.
