Job summary

H-E-B Digital is seeking a Software Engineer II to deliver complex code solutions and contribute to system design, security, and performance. You will support end-to-end delivery and help mentor junior developers in a partner-owned environment.

Requirements include a Computer Science degree or equivalent, 2+ years of software development experience, and familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence. You will work with storage platforms and automation tools, supporting large-scale production services.

Qualifications

• Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Conversant in the technology stack of the system/services of the team.
• Able to review others' code for performance, sustainability, and iterative development.
• Knowledge of coding standards and Lean Startup or Agile methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms and related storage concepts.
• Experience with automation tools and languages such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Writes production-ready code and tests meeting acceptance criteria, well-documented and edge-case aware.
• Creating, configuring, and supporting build and deployment pipelines.
• Capable of on-call support, debugging, and troubleshooting moderately complex issues.
• Grows technical skills, leading small initiatives independently.
• Collaborates across teams and mentors junior engineers.
• Recommends process/tool changes based on industry standards and best practices.
• Owns data protection and resiliency practices within scope of work.
