Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build the next generation of Corporate Payments products, including UIs, APIs, webhooks, and data streams.

You will collaborate across teams to define architectural roadmaps, drive rapid delivery, implement secure cloud solutions on AWS or Azure, and foster a culture of innovation. The role requires 4+ years of software engineering experience and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise deploying services on AWS or Azure.
• Experience with unit, component, and integration tests (test pyramid).
• Strong understanding of security and compliance in cloud/data environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native tools like Claude or Cursor.
• Excellent team-building and decision-making skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help develop a long-term vision and strategy for Corporate Payments cross-cutting services.
• Define and implement an architectural roadmap for platforms.

• Reduce time-to-market through efficient engineering practices.
