ServiceNow in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Cryptography, to design and build secure cryptographic services for a large-scale multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will implement key management, PKI, and secrets with a security-first mindset and apply ML techniques to strengthen anomaly detection.

Work on Kubernetes-based services, collaborate with security architects, and ensure compliance with FIPS and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years professional software engineering experience with Java/Go or equivalent OO language at production scale.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and Kubernetes in SaaS/multi-tenant environments.
• Direct experience with cryptography, PKI, key management, or secrets management systems.
• Demonstrated secure coding practices: code review, unit tests, threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure cryptographic services meeting FIPS/compliance.
• Operate core crypto services within a multi-tenant SaaS on Kubernetes.
• Apply ML/AI techniques to detect misuse or anomalies in cryptographic usage.
• Collaborate with product owners, security architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into code.
• Write secure code by default and review others' code with rigor.
