Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Community Support Engineering team. You will help build core frontend and backend solutions that empower global agents and improve service quality for guests and hosts.

You will own end-to-end features, shape technical direction, and collaborate with ML/Generative AI engineers to advance AI-driven support. This remote-friendly role offers US eligibility and opportunities to influence across teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS or equivalent experience.
• Experience architecting FE systems and end-to-end feature ownership.
• Experience building large web apps with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with React and GraphQL.
• Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Strong accessibility and performance optimization skills.
• Product-minded with strong communication and cross-org collaboration.
• Experience building UI for AI-driven features.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin back-end languages.
• Mentorship to junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to deliver new products and features.
• Lead full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, and deployment; review code and specs.
• Build efficient frontend components with performance and scalability in mind.
• Design and implement server-side APIs with clear client-server separation.
• Work with ML/Generative AI engineers to enhance support systems.
• Provide input on technical direction and architecture.
