Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in Aliso Viejo, CA seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Streaming Game Services. You will design and develop server-side software for a globally distributed PlayStation Cloud Streaming infrastructure from design through production support.

Responsibilities include building Kubernetes controllers, operating infrastructure lifecycle tooling, and collaborating with SRE and Platform teams to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems spanning software and infrastructure.
• Passion for building reliable, maintainable, and highly automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software powering the globally distributed PlayStation Cloud Streaming infrastructure.
• Build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and system services powering infrastructure lifecycle management and orchestration.
• Own features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing.
• Partner with SRE, Test and Platform Engineering to deliver reliable production services.
• Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design documents, and engineering standards.
• Effectively communicate technical approaches, project status, risks, estimates, and dependencies.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate design, implementation, documentation, and debugging while maintaining quality.
