Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Streaming Game Services in Aliso Viejo, CA. You will design, develop, and maintain server-side components powering a globally distributed PlayStation cloud infrastructure.

Lead features end-to-end, implement robust tests, and collaborate with SRE and platform teams to ensure reliability and performance across large-scale deployments.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems spanning software and infrastructure.
• Passion for building reliable, maintainable, and highly automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software powering the globally distributed PlayStation Cloud Streaming infrastructure
• Build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and system services powering infrastructure lifecycle management and orchestration
• Own features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
• Partner with SRE, Test and Platform Engineering to deliver reliable production services
• Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design documents, and engineering standards
• Effectively communicate technical approaches, project status, risks, estimates, and dependencies
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate design, implementation, documentation, and debugging
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and automation opportunities that improve engineering velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency
