Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in Aliso Viejo, CA seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Cloud Streaming Game Services to design and build globally distributed infrastructure for PlayStation cloud gaming.

You will own features from design to production, develop in Rust on Linux, build Kubernetes controllers, and collaborate with SRE/Platform Eng to ensure reliable, scalable services and rapid development using modern AI-assisted tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software systems.
• Troubleshooting complex technical problems spanning software and infrastructure.
• Passion for building reliable, maintainable, and highly automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software powering PlayStation Cloud Streaming infrastructure.
• Build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and system services for lifecycle management.
• Own features from design through testing, deployment and production support.
• Write high-quality, automated unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with SRE, Test and Platform Eng to deliver reliable services.
• Troubleshoot production issues focusing on reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Communicate approaches, status, risks, and dependencies clearly.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate design, implementation and debugging.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve velocity, reliability, and ops efficiency.
