Job summary

Talanto is seeking a DevOps software engineer to contribute to existing and new product development. Working under minimal supervision, you will design, implement, and verify modules for cloud and on-prem deployments, leveraging Linux, Kubernetes, and a range of scripting languages.

You will mentor peers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, unit testing, and documentation in line with SOPs,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in software development.
• Undergraduate or college degree or better in computer science or equivalent discipline or equivalent level of industry related experience
• Languages: Bash shell and Coreutils, Perl, Python, Go, Rust, Java
• Container platforms: Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman, AKS, OpenShift
• Cloud experience: Azure, AWS, GCP, or other
• Database: Oracle database and SQL
• Ability to work within an Agile development model.
• Ability to learn parts of a large, complex system.
• Ability to work effectively with others across the organization
• Ability to pursue self-development and continuous education.

Responsibilities

• Perform product development in accordance with Merge’s methodology and practices.
• Analyze, design, and test software modules as assigned.
• Prepare specifications, designs, and test descriptions.
• Implement modules and unit tests and conduct module testing.
• Conduct verification and validation activities.
• Detect, report, and fix defects as appropriate.
• Assist with escalated customer support investigations.
• Review engineering artifacts and collaborate on designs and tests.
• Design and develop next-gen platforms for cloud and on-prem deployments.
• Develop deployment systems for Linux and Kubernetes.
• Mentor team members and participate in code reviews.
• Interface with customers to gather requirements and explain technical aspects.
• Work with cross-functional teams to complete tasks and reports.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and process improvements.
