Talanto is seeking a talented Junior-level Software Developer to support a high-visibility federal modernization program—fully remote. You will join a fast-growing team delivering mission-critical government IT systems and modernizing legacy platforms with cloud technologies.

Key skills include Java, REST APIs, Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift, and GitOps practices. You will participate in code reviews, collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture, and help transform government

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience or Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented.
Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud native applications.
Hands on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and automated deployments.
Experience designing, developing, and operating solutions in AWS or other cloud platforms.
Experience with event driven architectures and two or more of the following: Kafka, Pub/Sub, Streaming, Event sourcing.
Experience operating within GitOps practices (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, etc.).
Experience working within Agile frameworks, including participation in Scrum/SAFe ceremonies.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).

Responsibilities

Develop, create, and modify computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
Develop microservices in a cloud native environment.
Operates an enterprise scale production system.Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves system issues.
Analyze user needs to develop robust software solutions aligned with business and mission goals.
Analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis, and distributed system design.
Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring of junior developers to promote engineering excellence.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture.
High-level objectives include migrating functionality to cloud (AWS GovCloud), Elasticsearch search, and OpenShift-based microservices.
