Job summary
Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Software Engineer to develop Java-based software within the C2BMC framework. You will implement algorithms, optimize performance, and collaborate with BM/SRM teams to align with system requirements.
The role requires a current Secret clearance, a strong background in OO Java design, and full lifecycle development in Unix/Linux environments.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance required to start.
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 3+ years.
- Experience developing Java-based software applications using OO design principles.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments along the full software development lifecycle.
- Willingness to travel infrequently between Huntsville and Colorado facilities.
Responsibilities
- Implement software enhancements and optimize algorithms and architectures.
- Coordinate with BM/SRM teams to translate designs into software implementations.
- Participate in Agile planning and execution following C2BMC processes.
- Develop and maintain Java-based software; perform code reviews and unit testing.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve performance, efficiency, and maintainability.
