Job summary

Collectors Holdings, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own meaningful features end to end across a TypeScript microservices and Next.js frontend stack. You will design, implement, test, and deploy services while modernizing legacy components and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor peers, review code, and contribute to robust testing, security, and observability, thriving in a fast-paced, autonomy‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js (NestJS/Express) or Java/Spring Boot with interest in TS.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORM usage.
• Frontend experience with React; Next.js preferred.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; some GraphQL is a plus.
• Automated testing and CI/CD, with AWS and containerized deployment.
• Experience with AI developer tooling and validating AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature development from DB to API to UI across multiple services.
• Develop backend services with NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL and frontend features with Next.js/React.
• Modernize legacy PHP/Spring Boot components into bounded modern services.
• Apply security, testing, documentation, and monitoring best practices.
• Deploy and operate on AWS (ECS/Lambda/SQS) with Docker and IaC (CDK/Terraform).
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship across sprints.
