You will work across the software lifecycle, develop scalable front-end using ReactJS and TypeScript, and integrate AI models into web apps, collaborating with product, data, and design teams to ship features that drive student success

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer or equivalent.
• Expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Experience designing and building scalable, secure back-end systems using Node.js, Python, or Rails.
• Solid grounding in AI/ML concepts, with hands-on experience integrating models into web applications.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve Empowerly’s next‑generation ed‑tech platform. The role emphasizes engineering best practices, delivery speed, and embedding AI and ML capabilities into our products.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from concept and design through build, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Develop high‑quality software design and architecture with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and security.
• Specialize in front‑end development using ReactJS and related frameworks, ensuring a seamless user experience across various platforms.
• Incorporate AI algorithms and machine learning models into web‑based applications to provide intelligent, data‑driven features.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to bring innovative solutions and products to life.
• Review, debug, and validate code, performing testing for verification and validation.
• Document development phases, monitor systems, and ensure alignment of application design with business goals.
• Collaborate with engineers to embed algorithms and models into production applications, such as recommendation engines and readiness scoring.
• Partner with product, data, and design teams to ship features that impact revenue, retention, and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or closely related field).
• Minimum 5+ years experience as a Full Stack Engineer or equivalent.
• Expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern front‑end frameworks.
• Experience designing and building scalable, secure back‑end systems using Node.js, Python, or Rails.
• Solid grounding in AI/ML concepts, with hands‑on experience integrating models into web applications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, detail orientation, and the ability to balance speed with quality.

Preferred Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Experience in VC‑backed startup environments.
