Job summary

Empower is seeking senior engineers with 7+ years of development experience to join our growing team. You will design, develop, and maintain features across a modern stack including C#, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, and cloud services.

You will collaborate with the Director of Engineering and other engineers to deliver scalable, secure backend services and contribute to data reporting and improvements, while occasionally handling high-pressure situations outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of development experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency with C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.
• Proficiency with a NoSQL or SQL database.
• Experience building and consuming REST or RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Track record developing scalable, secure backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain new features in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering and other engineers.
• Create reports, analyze data, and suggest improvements for business and technical needs.
• Complete tasks under tight deadlines.
• Lead less experienced developers.
• Help improve the platform in performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• In rare occasions, handle emergency situations during off-hours.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency with a NoSQL or SQL database

• Highly proficient with either CosmosDB, SQL, or PostgreSQL
• Highly Proficient with C# and/or Asp.NET Core
• Experience developing geolocation based applications and services

• Experience with Vue 2 / 3
