Job summary

Roblox in San Mateo, CA, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to bring AI agents into engine and Roblox Studio workflows. You will own developer-tool improvements, build AI sandboxes in C/C++/Rust, and collaborate with Engine and Infrastructure teams to raise engineering productivity.

Required: 5+ years in software engineering, systems programming in C/C++/Rust, and a CS/CE degree or equivalent. Web tech knowledge (JavaScript/TypeScript/React) is a plus, with equity and full-time benefits

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience owning substantial parts of a developer tool or system from design to operation
• Systems programming experience in C, C++, or Rust
• Experience with Web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript and React is a plus
• Interest in AI-powered developer tools (Claude Code, Codex, Pi)
• Ability to turn ambiguous developer needs into practical solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Own improvements to developer workflows from problem identification to design, shipping productivity tools, and measurement of impact
• Build AI agent sandboxes and harnesses in C and Rust, with integrations for Roblox's C++ game engine codebase
• Partner with Engine and Infrastructure leaders to deliver reliable tools and improve engineers' daily experience
