Job summary

NGP VAN, part of Bonterra, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fundraising & Compliance Engineering team in Austin, TX. You will build and scale tools that power fundraising and reporting for progressive campaigns and nonprofits using ASP.NET, ReactJS, SQL Server, and cloud services.

You will own features, mentor peers, contribute to architecture, and apply AI coding tools to accelerate development while ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Knowledge of web scalability challenges and solutions.
• Experience using AI coding tools to enhance development workflow.
• Ability to work independently on complex problems.
• Experience mentoring peers and participating in architecture discussions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Technical Leadership: design decisions balancing performance, maintainability, scalability.
• Mentorship & Code Stewardship: mentor peers, lead code reviews, share knowledge.
• Feature Ownership: design and implement fundraising, compliance and readiness workflows; integrate third-party tools.
• AI-Assisted Development: leverage AI coding tools and evaluate AI-generated code for quality and security.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: work with product and other engineering teams for cohesive solutions.
