Job summary

GovWell is hiring Senior Software Engineers to scale a configurable platform serving thousands of municipalities with diverse rules. You will build end-to-end features across the stack, from resident-facing interfaces to scalable backend services for government workflows.

You will own product areas, iterate on feedback from municipal staff, and contribute to architectural decisions while collaborating with the CTO and founders.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of full-stack development experience building applications for enterprises or consumer platforms.
• Experience in high-growth startup environments is preferred.
• Excited to work with the latest AI models in product and development workflows.
• Owned a large product area end-to-end and delivered measurable outcomes.
• Strong product instincts and questions-driven problem-solving.
• Desire for technical variance across domains (GIS, fee-schedule logic, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and ship full-stack features across GovWell’s platform from resident-facing interfaces to backend services.
• Develop the configuration layer to adapt the system across thousands of municipal setups.
• Own product areas end-to-end with reliability, maintainability, and performance in government environments.
• Incorporate customer feedback and production data to prioritize fixes.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews with the team.
