Job summary

Publix is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Store Item and Inventory Management Systems (SIIMS) team in Lakeland, FL. You will drive design, development, and support for web and mobile platforms, partnering with cross-functional teams to enable accurate item data, pricing, and promotions.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and guide architecture decisions while ensuring security, reliability, and scalable performance on Azure-based deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering delivering enterprise apps with cross-team leadership.
• 5+ years with .NET Core and C#, including .NET 8+ and MVC.
• 5+ years SQL design, optimization, and ORM usage (EF, Dapper).
• 3+ years building microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• 1+ years AKS experience; collaboration with DevOps for performance.
• On-call availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable solutions.
• Lead technical decisions for enterprise-grade apps and APIs.
• Refine backlogs to align with architecture standards and business goals.
• Monitor AKS workloads, troubleshoot performance and deployment issues.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and best practices.
• Partner with BSA, QA, and engineering teams to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
• Provide strategic technical guidance to leadership on tooling and architecture.
