Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, FL, is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the Store Item and Inventory Management Systems team. You will design, develop, debug, and support web and mobile solutions across store processes like adjustments, counts, and transfers.

The role is hybrid and requires proximity to Lakeland for onsite collaboration. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with Product Owners to deliver secure, scalable software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications and leading complex cross‑team initiatives.
• 5+ years of .NET Core & C# (incl. .NET 8+), MVC.
• 5+ years with SQL, database design, query optimization, ORM frameworks (Dapper/EF).
• 3+ years designing/building microservices, RESTful APIs, event‑driven systems; resiliency, observability, HA.
• 1+ years monitoring/troubleshooting AKS workloads with DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and support enterprise software solutions.
• Drive technical design decisions with Product Owners for scalable, enterprise‑grade systems.
• Refine and prioritize team backlogs; ensure alignment with architecture and business goals.
• Monitor AKS workloads; troubleshoot performance and deployment issues with DevOps.
• Mentor senior engineers; conduct code reviews and share best practices.
• Collaborate with BSAs, QA, and engineering to deliver secure, compliant software.
• Provide strategic technical guidance to leadership on architecture and tooling.
