Job summary

PowerSchool is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software across the stack. You will apply strong fundamentals, mentor teammates, and leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and quality.

This role emphasizes collaboration, security, and continuous improvement within an Agile environment. You will contribute to architecture decisions, own features end-to-end, and help ensure performance and reliability of critical systems used by K-12 educators

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel up to 5–10%.
• Experience delivering production-grade software and owning features.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services.
• Own delivery of complex features with independence and sound technical decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate needs into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Contribute to SDLC activities including testing and deployment.
