Job summary

PowerSchool is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain customer‑facing web applications using React and TypeScript within a micro‑frontend architecture. You will collaborate with Product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver robust features and reliable user experiences.

You will also explore AI coding agents to assist implementation, refactor code, author tests, and generate pull requests while contributing to automated testing and backend API development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• 1 year or less of relevant and related work experience.
• Travel occasionally, up to 5-10%, for team events and peak periods.
• This position may involve on-call hours outside normal workday as needed.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI coding assistants/agents in a professional software development workflow.
• Proficiency in full-stack development, including Java or equivalent backend and modern JS/TS frontend frameworks (React).
• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative PR workflows.
• Working knowledge of automated testing practices (unit testing and/or behavior-driven testing).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features for customer-facing web applications using React, TypeScript, and micro-frontend patterns.
• Leverage AI coding agents as a first-line collaborator for implementation, refactors, tests, and PR generation.
• Author and maintain automated test suites to validate functionality and workflows.
• Build and consume backend APIs and services powering core product functionality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and other engineering teams.
• Debug and resolve production and non-production issues across the full stack.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards with AI-assisted tools.
• Improve engineering velocity by integrating AI-agentic workflows into daily development.
