PowerSchool is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software across the product stack. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply modern languages like TypeScript, Java, C#, and Python, and leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and code quality.

The role emphasizes independent feature ownership, strong architectural input, and mentorship within a high-growth R&D environment focused on reliable, secure software delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant and related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Travel occasionally, up to 5-10%, for team events and training.
• This position is subject to company on-call policies outside of normal hours as needed.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: TypeScript, Java, C#, Python.
• Experience delivering production-grade software and owning significant features or components.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services using modern programming languages.
• Own the delivery of complex features or components with independence and sound technical decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to system and solution design and discuss architecture and tradeoffs.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, and testing processes.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure secure development practices.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues across the SDLC.
• Support quality assurance with unit/integration tests and documentation.
