Job summary

Samsara is seeking an experienced software engineer to help build AI-powered products that connect hardware, software, and the physical world. You’ll own end-to-end features across backend, frontend, and APIs, shaping architecture and shipping at scale.

The role spans Senior through Staff+ levels, with autonomy to define scope and make measurable impact, all within a remote-friendly, US-based setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile).
• Proficiency in Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React or similar.
• Experience leading cross-team projects from inception through rollout.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and run with them.
• Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services to UI.
• Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend, frontend, and mobile.
• Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world problems into technical plans.
• Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion and APIs.
• Raise the bar through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally.
