Job summary

CoStar Group, a leading real estate information provider, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Automation team in Richmond, VA. You will design and build large-scale, API-driven systems powering CoStar’s brands, including CoStar Suite, LoopNet and Homes.com, with a focus on AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Experience with React.js, JavaScript, C#, .NET, SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and AI-assisted development tools.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data governance concepts.
• Experience with LLMs, prompts, and intelligent agents.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed APIs for thousands of users.
• Lead AI-powered software solutions across CoStar brands.
• Integrate AI skills, agents, tools, and workflows into internal systems and customer apps.
• Use AI models to improve monitoring, observability, and diagnostics.
• Implement telemetry-driven monitoring to identify anomalies and bottlenecks.
• Build intelligent automation to streamline research workflows and data quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Research, Data, and Engineering teams to create business value.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish development standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen CoStar’s platform.
