Job summary

FICO is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to advance agent-driven software development in a regulated, production-focused environment. You will design, specify, and verify outputs from AI coding agents, ensuring precise alignment with architectural goals and compliance requirements.

You will collaborate with product teams to define success criteria, quality gates, and robust verification, while maintaining comprehensive documentation and guiding the safe, effective use of automation

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering within large, complex codebases with emphasis on architecture, testing, and maintainability.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor) in production workflows.
• Ability to critically evaluate agent-generated output and intervene when needed to maintain quality and safety.
• Clear, precise communication of technical requirements including definitions of done and acceptance criteria.
• Familiarity with regulated/audited software delivery processes and controlled change management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product teams to translate ideation into structured Proof of Concepts with clear feasibility.
• Produce detailed specifications and acceptance criteria enabling agents to generate correct, maintainable output from deployment to production.
• Apply quality standards to agent-generated output comparable to hand-written code in regulated contexts.
• Operate within the agentic harness using guides, AGENTS.md, and automated sensors like linters and verification loops.
• Identify root causes of recurring agent errors and work with the harness team to implement systemic controls.
• Maintain repository documentation, specifications, and contextual knowledge as a shared system of record.
• Make architecture and design decisions with focus on latency, risk, auditability, and appropriate agent autonomy.
