Job summary

FICO, a leading analytics software company in the United States, is seeking a software engineer to advance agent-based coding platforms in production. You will collaborate with product teams to define clear specifications and acceptance criteria, ensuring high-quality, auditable outputs as part of a regulated decisioning context.

Ideal candidates will have experience with large codebases, familiarity with AI coding agents, cloud platforms, and real-time decisioning systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering within large codebases and strong foundation in architecture, testing, and long-term maintainability.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents and production workflows.
• Ability to evaluate agent output, detect errors, and intervene when needed.
• Strong ability to write precise, testable specifications and definitions of done for agents and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product teams to translate ideation into structured Proofs of Concepts and establish technical feasibility.
• Produce detailed specifications and acceptance criteria to guide agent-generated output from development to deployment.
• Apply rigorous quality standards to agent outputs within a regulated context.
• Operate within the agentic harness using guides, architectural rules, and verification sensors.
• Identify root causes of recurring agent errors and work with the harness team to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain repository documentation and contextual knowledge as a shared system of record.
• Apply technical judgement to architecture, latency, auditability, and changes beyond agent autonomy.
