Job summary

KorTerra, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build backend services in C#/.NET for our cloud-first, multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will drive architecture, integration, and AI-assisted development using Claude Code, shaping secure, scalable systems.

You will mentor teammates, lead spec-driven development, and collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into robust technical designs and reliable services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in C# and modern .NET, including ASP.NET Core (.NET 8 or later; we're on .NET 10).
• Proven experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs on Azure.
• Expertise in database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with event-driven messaging (Azure Service Bus).
• Deep understanding of API security best practices and authentication.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Strong technical writing skills and agile mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services, APIs, and event-driven microservices using C#/.NET.
• Architect, optimize, and manage SQL and NoSQL data stores for performance and security.
• Build and operate cloud-first solutions on Azure using Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead spec-driven development with clear specifications, API contracts, and technical designs.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering leadership and best practices.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security through automated testing and monitoring.
