Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Plano to develop high-quality software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write clean code, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with new technologies and best practices.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/Kafka, and proficiency in microservices, REST/GraphQL, cloud, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and testing frameworks.

Qualifications

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing high-quality software. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing clean code, and staying updated on the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver software on time
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices
• Research technical issues and provide solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience in Database like PostgreSQL and messaging systems like Kafka
• Experience with Microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON
• Proficiency in relational databases, database design, and data modeling
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
• Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with code reviews and mentoring

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual [salary/hourly rate] for this position is between [$100,000-110,000 annually]/[$50.00-55.00 per hour]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
