Job summary

Ascendion in Columbus, OH, seeks a Java Developer to design and maintain Java-based applications using a microservices approach. You will implement REST APIs with Spring Security, leverage Hibernate/JPA for data access, and build event-driven solutions.

The role includes deploying on cloud platforms and ensuring robust error handling. The ideal candidate has Java 21 expertise, strong experience with Spring Boot/Spring Security, and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tooling.

About the Role

Job Title: Java Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications using Microservices architecture.
• Implement REST APIs and ensure Spring Security in the applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with Microservices and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and Spring Security.
• Familiarity with Hibernate/JPA for database interactions.
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture.
• Ability to implement Error Handling in applications.
• Experience deploying applications on Cloud Platforms.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Experience with Spring Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Cloud Foundry.
• Knowledge of Kafka, JWT, OAuth, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual [salary/hourly rate]for this position is between [$100,000-110,000 annually]/[$55.00 - 65. per hour]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
