Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Data Engineer - AWS to join our Seattle onsite team. You will design and build scalable data pipelines using AWS data technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or related field.
• 3-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or large-scale data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data technologies (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lake Formation, MWAA).
• Strong programming in SQL, Python, PySpark.
• Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
• Experience with structured and semi-structured datasets at scale.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with data validation, reconciliation, and migration testing.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed data processing and production pipelines.
• Agile delivery experience with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Title: Data Engineer - AWS

Location: Onsite in Seattle, WA

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
• 3-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or large-scale data platform environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data technologies including:AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, Lake Formation, Managed Airflow (MWAA)
• Strong programming skills in:SQL, Python, PySpark
• Experience building and supporting scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud-based environments.
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets at scale.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, partitioning strategies, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with data validation, reconciliation, and migration testing methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed data processing workloads and production pipeline issues.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional stakeholder teams.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

AWS Certifications such as:

Salary Range:The salaryfor this position is between$90000 - $130000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
