As a Senior Software Engineer on the Matrix Solutions team, you will create and deliver solutions that represent broadcast television and digital workflows, leveraging industry developments including the TIP initiative, digital sales standards, and emerging sales business models. A successful candidate will have the ability to work with multiple Development and Product Teams to solve customer business problems. As a key stakeholder, the Senior Software Engineer will play a lead role on the Agile Product Development team through developing effective applications and mentoring others.

Core Responsibilities and Focus

Create

• Create enterprise web and mobile web applications using tools and languages such as JavaScript, AngularJS, CSS, C#/ASP.NET Core, Azure functions, and SQL.
• Participate in all aspects of building software solutions by providing input during design meetings, planning meetings, product demos, and incorporating customer feedback.
• Understand best modern practices; a good eye for UI design is an asset.

Collaborate

• Work with clients, product owners, architects, developers, and testers to create efficient and scalable software solutions that address enterprise-level business problems, meet objectives, and support long-term growth.
• Assist in promoting Matrix Solutions within the tech industry and participate in recruiting and interviewing as needed.
• Regularly communicate project status and risks to the team and management.

Learn

• Contribute to building a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Use Agile methodologies to support team members in product feedback, issue resolution, and implementation strategies.
• Work with the team to resolve product support issues and handle lifecycle development functions like builds and deployments.

Essential Skills and Experience

• At least 6 years of experience building JavaScript/AngularJS client applications.
• Development experience with C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
• Experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure or other PaaS platforms.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills.
• A strong desire to solve problems and provide creative solutions.
• Interest in networking with technical and business peers outside of Matrix Solutions.
• Eligibility for employment in the U.S.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with functional programming, especially F#.
• Experience delivering features using AI technology as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Event Hub, Kinesis, or other event streaming tools.
• Experience developing mobile applications, web or native.
• Understanding of Agile or XP methodologies.
• Experience coding analytics or reporting applications against large datasets.
• Familiarity with distributed source control systems like Git.
• Experience with ORM tools such as NHibernate.
• Understanding of startup culture or SaaS companies.
