Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build REST API integrations between customer and partner systems and the Databricks platform.
• Ingest and transform HL7 messages and CDA/C-CDA documents into Databricks via Azure Data Factory.
• Develop integration services in Python and C#/.NET against Databricks and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Contribute to design discussions and follow technical design set by Lead Software Engineer.
• Deliver work according to customer standards, including code reviews, testing and deployment.
• Onboard rapidly and begin contributing to integration work early.
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers to the Lead Software Engineer and delivery stakeholders.

Job description

OVERVIEW

OnTrac is seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineers to join a contractor program supporting a healthcare / pharmacy benefit management (PBM) customer. The customer is staffing a team of three to four engineers to build REST API integrations with its Databricks data platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who has moved clinical and pharmacy data between systems using healthcare interoperability standards, can write production code in both Python and C#/.NET, and can become productive on a customer codebase with minimal ramp-up. The successful candidates will work closely with the Lead Software Engineer, the delivery team, and customer stakeholders to ensure project success from initial definition through final delivery.

ENGAGEMENT

• Openings: two to three Senior Software Engineers, working alongside one Lead Software Engineer
• Location: United States, fully remote

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience delivering software in the healthcare industry; pharmacy benefit management (PBM) experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience designing and building REST APIs and system-to-system integrations
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, including building pipelines and integrating external services with the platform
• Working knowledge of healthcare data standards: HL7 and CDA / C-CDA documents
• Experience building data movement and orchestration with Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance (or SQL Server), including schema design and query tuning
• Production development in Python
• Production development in C# / .NET

USEFUL QUALIFICATIONS

• HL7 FHIR experience
• Familiarity with PBM data domains such as claims, eligibility, formulary, and prior authorization
• Experience working with PHI under HIPAA controls
• Prior experience as an embedded contractor on a customer engineering team

• Build REST API integrations between customer and partner systems and the Databricks platform

• Develop integration services in Python and C# / .NET against Databricks and Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Work from the technical design set by the Lead Software Engineer, and contribute to design discussions for assigned integrations
• Deliver work to the customer's technical standards, following its code review, testing, and deployment practices
