Job summary

PENTAX Medical is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Development to lead enterprise-level software in a regulated medical device environment. You will guide architecture, development, and delivery while mentoring multiple engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

This role emphasizes strategic technology leadership, hands-on coding involvement, risk management, and lifecycle execution to deliver secure, scalable solutions globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of software development experience in architecture, design, coding of large systems; 12+ preferred.
• 6+ years in software engineering management with direct reports and teams of five or more developers.
• Experience in FDA-regulated medical device or healthcare software R&D; familiarity with IEC 62304 and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for complex software products and programs.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary software teams; manage senior engineers.
• Involve in architecture, system design, coding, reviews, debugging, and risk management.
• Drive full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment and support.
• Manage multiple projects with plans, resources, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with product management to define roadmaps and platform direction.
• Ensure software processes, standards, CI, and documentation practices.
