Job summary

Baxter is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead embedded software development for medical monitors worldwide. You will design, implement, document, and sustain software products, providing technical leadership to a small team in a regulated environment.

You will own the end-to-end lifecycle, drive technical roadmaps, assess risks, ensure quality and cybersecurity, and collaborate across Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Manufacturing, and Program Management to deliver compliant

Qualifications

10+ years of embedded software experience in complex, regulated medical devices.
Experience with safety-critical systems and medical device development workflows.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills for senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end software development lifecycle for medical device products.
Define and drive technical roadmaps, architecture strategies, and technology selections.
Identify and mitigate product-level technical risks with cross-functional teams.
Provide technical leadership across development, verification, and field issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with medical device quality and regulatory standards (risk management, CAPA, cybersecurity, design control).
Champion quality, security-by-design, reliability, manufacturability, and continuous improvement.
Lead design reviews, technical oversight, and mentoring; participate in hiring and assessments.
Lead cross-functional teams using Agile SAFe practices to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions.
