Job summary

Amazon’s FinAuto RecTech is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team in Arlington. You will craft core infrastructure and tools enabling engineering teams to deliver scalable customer experiences across Amazon’s receivables platforms.

You will design and maintain platform components, lead architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and raise the bar on security and code quality, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or equivalent leadership role.

We're seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You will be instrumental in crafting the core infrastructure and tools that empower our engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. By developing scalable, reliable, and efficient platform features, you'll contribute to improving our customer collection effectiveness and reach, optimize or eliminate manual work, and simplify the number of ways and systems used to manage receivables across Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core platform components and services. This includes defining high and low level design using the latest AWS technology for large distributed environments.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to help define the architecture and deliver platform capabilities. Optimize existing platform features and services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead defining and implementing engineering best practices. Use data to define and improve operational excellence.
• Raise the bar on code quality, including security, readability, consistency, and maintainability.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. Proactively partner with other engineers to coach them and help them amplify their ideas. Train junior engineers to raise the bar in their work.

Basic Qualifications
