Job summary

Uline, a family-owned leader in shipping and packaging, seeks a Senior Software Developer to shape the future of Uline.com. You will apply full-stack expertise to build and modernize a business-critical platform serving North America, guiding architecture and delivering high-performing solutions at enterprise scale.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor developers across teams, and drive modernization efforts, including AI-powered approaches and modern tooling to improve the customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in web/eCommerce.
• Experience with .NET, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Kibana/Elasticsearch/Dynatrace) or NiFi preferred.
• Not participating in the H-1B lottery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modernize large-scale web applications for Uline.com.
• Contribute to project planning, architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Partner with teams to improve performance and customer experience.
• Mentor and coach developers, providing technical guidance.

Position Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modernize large-scale web applications, influencing architecture and technical direction for Uline.com.
• Contribute to project planning, architecture discussions and code reviews for complex initiatives from planning through delivery.
• Partner with teams across Uline to improve application performance and deliver solutions that enhance the customer experience.
• Mentor and coach developers, providing technical guidance and helping resolve engineering challenges.
• Explore and apply AI-powered solutions and emerging technologies, including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI and vector search, as part of ongoing modernization.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including experience developing web or eCommerce applications using .NET, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Kibana, Elasticsearch or Dynatrace, or data integration tools such as NiFi preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, technical leadership and collaboration skills.
• Uline does not participate in the H-1B lottery.
